Recreation abounds in the Great Smoky Mountains. There are over 800 miles of designated trail, self-guided auto tours, several cultural heritage sites and abundant wildlife within the park. Because of the Park’s popularity and being surrounded by cities filled with attractions, the Great Smoky Mountains is the most visited National Park averaging over 9 million visitors per year.
